Advertising disclosure

The short version: this site contains affiliate links and may earn a commission when you buy through them, at no extra cost to you.

What that means

Some links on GeneratorHunt are advertising. If you click one and go on to make a purchase, we may receive a commission from the merchant. The price you pay is the same either way, and clicking costs you nothing.

This disclosure is made in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and advertising, which asks publishers to disclose material connections clearly and conspicuously.

How advertising is presented

  • Advertising units are visually distinct and carry a label such as “Recommended Sponsor” or are marked as an advertisement.
  • Sponsored links use the sponsored and nofollow link attributes, so search engines can tell them apart from editorial links.
  • Citations inside our articles, which point to government agencies, standards bodies and reference works, are ordinary editorial links and are never paid.

What advertising does not affect

  • The directory. Businesses are included because they appear in the underlying open map data and match our criteria. No business pays to be listed, to rank higher, or to keep a competitor out.
  • The guides. Editorial recommendations are made on the merits. Where we say a category of product is the wrong tool for a job, that stands whether or not the category has an advertiser attached.
  • The calculators. Every formula used is documented on the tool page itself so you can check the arithmetic.
