Large Expandable Power Stations

A big outage, a workshop that trips breakers or a rig you live in all ask more of a power station than a weekend kit does. The question is whether you want 3kW or more of output now, with room to add batteries later. This page walks through the main styles of large expandable station so you can match them to your own loads.

Modular stations built around the Apex 300

Apex 300+Charger 1 - Apex 300+Charger 1

$1,749.00

Apex 300 + Charger 2 - Apex 300 + Charger 2

$1,949.00

Apex 300 + 2 × 500W - Apex 300 + 2 × 500W

$3,299.00

The Apex 300 is the core of a system that grows in steps. The listings show 3,840W output and 2,764.8Wh in the base unit, with LiFePO₄ cells. You add a B300K or B500K battery when you need more hours, and chargers or a DC hub when you need faster refills. This suits anyone who wants to start modestly and expand as their needs become clear.

If you already know solar is the plan, some bundles pair the Apex 300 with panels or a high-voltage solar input. One lists 1,000W of solar, another a SolarX 4K that accepts 4,000W at up to 500V VOC. Check your panel layout against those limits before you buy.

Apex 300 with extra batteries

Apex 300+B300K+Hub D1 - Apex 300+B300K+Hub D1

$2,849.00

Apex 300+B300K+2*350W - Apex 300+B300K+2*350W

$3,998.00

Apex 300 + B500K + 500W - Apex 300 + B500K + 500W

$4,399.00

Adding a B300K takes the listed capacity to 5,529.6Wh, while keeping 3,840W output. That is a sensible size for running a fridge, lights and a few small appliances through a long evening and into the next day. The B500K goes further: one bundle shows 7,884.8Wh at 3,840W, in 120V/240V.

Paired systems for 240V and big capacity

2*Apex 300+2*B300K+Hub A1 - 2*Apex 300+2*B300K+Hub A1

$6,099.00

2*Apex 300+2*B500K+Hub A1 - 2*Apex 300+2*B500K+Hub A1

$7,499.00

Two Apex 300 units on a Hub A1 are listed at 7,680W and 11,059.2Wh with two B300K batteries. That is for people planning whole-circuit backup, a serious workshop or full-time RV living. Another bundle uses two B500K batteries instead. Expect a bigger outlay and more gear to place and connect, so plan the space first.

The AC300 and B300 family

BLUETTI AC300+B300

$1,699.00

BLUETTI AC300+B300K+2*350W Solar

$2,948.00

BLUETTI AC300+4*B300K

$5,497.00

The AC300 is an inverter base that takes B300 or B300K batteries, and the listings range from a single battery to four, or two AC300 units with four B300K. It is an established modular route and suits people who like stacking capacity to match a budget. Several bundles include solar panels, so read the contents list closely.

Home backup systems: AC500 and EP500

BLUETTI AC500 + B300S

$3,598.00

BLUETTI EP500 Solar Power Station

$2,999.00

The AC500 is a 5,000W inverter that needs a B300S battery, and the listings call it home battery backup. The EP500 and EP500Pro are all-in-one units at 5,120Wh, rated 2,000W and 3,000W respectively. These suit a fixed install more than a camping trip, so think of them as outage gear for the house.

Smaller step-ups: Elite 300 and Elite 400

BLUETTI Elite 300 Portable Power Station

$1,199.00

Elite 400+350W - Elite 400+350W

$1,849.00

If 3kW is more than you need, the Elite 300 lists 2,400W and 3,014Wh. It suits CPAP users, camping and light workshop work. The Elite 400 bundles add solar panels at 350W or 500W.

How to choose

  • Add up your running watts first. That sets the inverter size you need.
  • Then multiply by hours to find watt hours. Add battery modules to cover that gap.
  • Check the solar input limit, in watts and volts, against your panels.
  • Look at what the bundle includes. Some list chargers, hubs or cables, and others ship in separate packages.
  • Think about 120V versus 120V/240V if you plan to run larger tools or home circuits.

Questions people ask

Do I really need 3kW or more?

Only if your loads need it. Add up the appliances you would run together. If the total is well under 2,400W, a smaller station may do.

Can I add batteries later?

The modular systems are designed for it, but match the battery to the base unit. B300K and B500K go with the Apex 300, and B300 goes with the AC300.

Why do some bundles arrive in separate parcels?

The retailer notes that bundle orders ship in different packages with multiple tracking numbers, so they may not arrive together.

Is solar included?

Only where the name says so, such as 2*200W or 2*350W. Otherwise treat the panels as a separate purchase.
