Parallel and Split Phase 240V Kits
Two stations can do more than add up watt hours. Linked the right way, they can give you 240V for a well pump, a dryer or an RV with a 50A hookup. This page helps you decide whether a parallel or split phase kit is the path you need, and which kind fits your loads.
Split phase pairs for 120V and 240V together
Some stations are built to pair up and deliver both 120V and 240V from the same setup. This is the route for a home with a 240V well pump or dryer, or an RV that expects a 50A feed. The AC500 with a B300S battery is the starting block for this style. You buy two of them, plus the cables and the connection hardware that tie them together.
If you want the pair ready in one box, there are AC500 bundles. One offers 11,059.2Wh and 10,000W with four B300K batteries. Another adds two B300K batteries and the P030A. A third adds two 350W solar panels. They suit people who want the split phase pair, storage and a home backup role settled in a single order.
The AC300 pairs work the same way at a smaller scale. They suit a cabin, a modest RV or a few essential circuits. Several of these bundles list the P030A and note that bundles ship in multiple packages. Check the delivery note before you plan around a date.
Home backup pairs built around EP500
The EP500 pair comes with a Split Phase Fusion Box. It is aimed at home battery backup, so it suits a house more than a campsite. One version adds six 200W solar panels, which makes it a full solar generator kit for outage planning.
Cables that make the split phase work
The pair needs the right leads. Output cables are matched to the station. One takes two NEMA 14-50 connections to an SS2-50R, which is for AC500 users heading to a 50A inlet. Another goes from two TT-30P plugs to an L14-30C for the AC300. The EP500Pro has its own cable, with two L14-30 connections going to an L14-30C.
Charging and communication cables are separate items. There is a 50A charging cable and a 30A charging cable for split phase use, plus a communication cable for the split phase function. Add them to your list early so the pair is not left waiting on a lead.
Parallel hubs and Apex systems
The Apex 300 line takes a different route. A Hub A1 links the units, and the hub packages come with parallel connection cables. The complete kits pair two Apex 300 units with B300K or B500K batteries. One lists 7,680W and 11,059.2Wh, and a larger one lists 16,588.8Wh. Pick these when you want more capacity and output from stations that stack neatly.
If you already own the stations, the hub alone is the cheaper step. Packages come with different cable counts, so read the description to see how many units you plan to link.
EnergyPro 6K with the AT1 panel
The EnergyPro 6K line goes bigger. It is sold with the AT1 smart distribution panel, and you can buy two, three, four or five units together. This suits a whole home plan, where the panel does the job of distributing power to circuits. The AT1 is also sold on its own, with or without a parallel cable.
AC240 parallel gear
AC240 owners have a smaller kit. The P480A Parallel Box is required to run two AC240 units in parallel, and it works with the AC240 only. Parallel charging cables for 30A and 50A let both units charge at once from one outlet.
How to choose
- Start with the load. Check the running watts and the voltage of your pump, dryer or RV inlet.
- Match the family. The cables, hubs and boxes are made for specific models, and the AC240 box works with the AC240 only.
- Check the connector. A 50A RV inlet, an L14-30 and a TT-30 each need a different cable.
- Plan the storage. Output is one number and watt hours are another. Look at both.
- Think about the house. If you want circuits fed from a panel, look at the AT1 or the fusion box options.
- Read the shipping notes. Bundles may arrive in several packages.
Questions people ask
Does parallel give me 240V?
Not by itself. Parallel linking adds output and capacity. Split phase kits are the ones described as giving the two voltages. Check the product description for the exact setup.
Can I link any two stations?
No. Pair the same model, with the cables and boxes made for it. Follow the manual.
Do I need a panel for a well pump?
That depends on how the pump is wired in your home. Ask a qualified electrician if you are unsure.
Is a hub the same as a fusion box?
No. They belong to different product families and serve different setups. Read the description for the family you are buying.
